Safety in Numbers
Safety in numbers…what does that mean to you? As a believer, today, I think of this in terms of prayer. The more prayers that can be lifted up, the more safe we feel in a scary situation. The more people we have praying for us, the more we feel covered by God’s love. The more we feel God’s love and protection, the more bold we become to live in His will. Living in His will can be scary, sometimes unsafe and uncomfortable.
As I write this, our country of Haiti is unsafe, scary and very uncomfortable. There is no existing government, gangs have taken over the capital city, kidnappings are common and food is scarce, leaving the question of famine lurking in eveyones’s mind.
We know God sees us, we know God hears our prayers, but there is boldness and comfort in being covered by your prayers. So we are asking, for you, our “numbers” to pray for safety, pray for boldness and pray for an end to the gang violence that has a country terrified.
Pastor Erick and his family (pictured above) ask for you to pray for these specific things:
The church to be bold in their faith and reliance on God
The school children and teachers to be safe as they desire to attend school
The government of Haiti to be secured to bring order to the country
Food to be readily assessable to avoid a famine
The many that are fleeing Port au Prince, to find New Song Church so they can know that God sees them and loves them
